Why Farmland?

Farmland is a distinct asset class with a unique characteristic: scarcity. As the global population expands, the demand for food production increases driving up the value of agriculture land. Unlike other real estate sectors, farmland is a finite resource, making it a powerful long-term investment. We believe in empowering farmers, which is why every farmer we partner with owns at least 51% of their farm.

Farmers should have equity.

Most farmers rent the land they work, only owning a small fraction of the land they farm. When a landowner sells, farmers face a difficult choice. They can either pay a steep 40% down payment, or sell out to ultra wealthy investors. Farmland Stock Exchange empowers farmers by requiring just a 10% down payment, helping farmers maintain ownership and secure the future of their farm.

Landowners should have flexibility.

While landowners need to sell today, either because they just inherited their farm, or they need cash for daily expenses, they are limited in their options. Currently they can go to their farmer directly and have no information on the price of their asset, or they can go to a broker and pay high fees for little work. We believe landowners should be given all of the information and be able to retain up to 80% of their farm.

Farmland should be a generational asset

When someone inherits a farm they are inheriting the blood, sweat, and tears of their ancestors. Whether they have owned that land for 5 years or 150, sacrifices were made.

Our goal is to help landowners take money off the table, while retaining partial ownership. We want to ensure the next generation gets the same benefit.
